Set Up E-mail on an iPhone

For 1&1 Mail Basic accounts.
Learn how to set up your 1&1 e-mail account on your iPhone, allowing you to send and receive e-mails wherever you go.

The images used in this guide reflect the iOS 9.1 operating system.

Before you begin, you will need to Create an E-mail Account in Your 1&1 Package.

Step 1
Find and click Settings on your iDevice.

Scroll down and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Settings menu

Select Add Account…

Scroll down and select Other.

Select Add Mail Account.

Enter the name you wish to display to others when sending mail, your full e-mail address, and the password for the e-mail account. The description will mirror the e-mail address by default, although you may change it to whatever you like. New account screen

Tap the Next button.

Ensure that IMAP is selected at the top and that the name, address and description have been carried over.

Scroll down and enter imap.1and1.com in the Host Name field and your full E-mail Addressin the User Name field under the Incoming Mail Server section.

Enter smtp.1and1.com in the Host Name field and your full E-mail address in the User Name field under the Outgoing Mail Server section. Enter the Password for the E-mail account.

Tap the Next button.

Turn Mail syncing ON. Optionally, you may also turn on Notes syncing. Sync with IMAP

Click Save to complete the setup of your 1&1 Mail Basic account on your iPhone.Accounts overview

Your 1&1 e-mail account is now connected to your iPhone and you can access it at anytime.
